If you have been peeking into our home here on the blog, you can tell I love texture, accents of unpainted wood, and artwork. Oh yes, and green. In October, I stepped into the Roberta Schilling Collection at the High Point Furniture Market because the showroom entry just pulled me right in, for all of those reasons.

Most of the RS Collection “utilizes materials indigenous to Latin America, but within the design process, those original materials are converted into something completely unexpected. The Roberta Schilling Collection prides itself on maintaining a fresh and truly unique inventory of innovative pieces marked by contemporary elegance.” – Roberta Schilling website

I was so drawn to the large statement tribal images, and this crazy fabulous metal and carved wood figure art. I could not take my eyes away. So wonderful.

Seed pods, just hanging as art, were so effective as is.

Crafted into woven baskets like this unique and stunning table piece made me appreciate nuts, seeds, and all things earthy, all over again.

Wooden figures and abstract shapes made me want them all. As wall art. As 3-D accessories. As walking stick art.

I caught myself staring at the wall art like this simple (and sold) piece on a dramatic red backdrop. Yet, there were the most beautiful table and chairs, so simply styled, right there in front.

The wooden chairs and bar stools with perfect, masterful joinery took my breath away.

Where else is a bow so well stated?

This reflective typography poster left me with wonderful words to live by…

A NOTE: The Market is for furniture buyers and interior designers from around the glove, selling to the trade only. In other words, it is not open to the public since it’s where stores shop for their goods.

  1. Thank you for sharing this showroom. This is stunning – all the unique details and creative ways to use materials. The seed pods! I’ve picked up a handful of unique seed pods overseas. But maybe should have picked up armfuls? (But the beagles at international baggage claim …)
